RAJA OF PERLIS RECEIVES COURTESY VISIT FROM AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER

ARAU, Jan 20 (Bernama) --The Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail received a courtesy visit from the Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia, Danielle Heinecke, at Istana Arau last night.

Also present at the meeting were the Raja Muda of Perlis Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail and Raja Puan Muda of Perlis Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen Akashah Khalil.

Perlis Menteri Besar Abu Bakar Hamzah and state secretary Datuk Rahimi Ismail were also in attendance.

Following the audience in the Blue Room, Heinecke joined Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra, and Tuanku Dr Hajah Lailatul Shahreen for a dinner.

Earlier in the day, Heinecke participated in the MAIPs Peduli Cycling event led by the Raja Muda of Perlis around Kampung Warna Warni in Kuala Perlis.

Speaking to reporters before the audience, Heinecke said this was her first visit to Perlis, where she had the opportunity to learn about the state’s investment potential, particularly in industrial development and efforts to attract more investment.

She expressed interest in Perlis' investment plans, especially in the industrial sector and the Perlis Inland Port (PIP), which she hopes to share with Australian companies that may be interested in exploring opportunities in the state.

"Hopefully, we can encourage some Australian companies to explore the opportunities here in Perlis. It’s great to see what the government is doing to attract investment, and we’ll do our part by sharing this information with interested companies," she said.
