MADINAH, Jan 26 (Bernama-SPA) -- The Smart Engineering Command and Control Centre at the Prophet’s Mosque was inaugurated on Sunday, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The launch by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Tawfig Al-Rabiah, coincides with the approaching holy month of Ramadan.
The inauguration marks a significant step in developing the service ecosystem for visitors to the holy mosques, enhancing operational efficiency and improving the experience of worshippers through the use of advanced technological and smart solutions.
The initiative aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in operational excellence and innovation.
The authority stated that the smart engineering centre represents a transformative approach to monitoring the operational performance of services at the Prophet’s Mosque.
It relies on interactive screens linked to digital operational data, covering assets, services, visitor feedback and compliance, thereby improving monitoring efficiency and accelerating responses to operational reports.
The centre is staffed by qualified personnel across four operational shifts, ensuring 24-hour operation and rapid handling of reports to support the mosque’s daily operations.
It also strengthens operational governance through digital performance indicators and analytical reports based on historical, current and predictive data, while integrating with relevant external entities to support effective decision-making.
Now fully operational, the centre is designed to manage high-density periods throughout the year, particularly during Ramadan and Hajj.
It uses key and subsidiary performance indicators to monitor the operational performance of all services.
Serving as a unified platform for managing assets and services at the Prophet’s Mosque, the centre enhances service management, ensures operational readiness and supports the development of work systems in line with Saudi Vision 2030 to elevate the quality of services for visitors.
