KUANTAN, Feb 1 (Bernama) -- The Bentong district police headquarters (IPD issued 154 summonses on various traffic offences through the Integrated Crime Prevention Special Roadblock (SJR) Operation at KM14 Jalan Genting Highlands yesterday.
Its district police chief, Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar said the summonses were issued as a result of inspections on 246 vehicles during the roadblock.
"Among the detected offences were exhaust modifications, registration numbers not according to specifications, no driver's licence, no road tax, no side mirrors, the use of unauthorised accessories, and not wearing a seatbelt," he said in a statement today
He said the operation would be carried out continuously following complaints and information received regarding vehicles racing and making noise from modified exhausts that disturbed visitors and residents in the area.
In the same operation, Zaiham said a foreign woman was also detained under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155) for failing to produce identification documents or a passport
Meanwhile, the Bentong IPD in a post on Facebook announced that the operation was from 10 pm yesterday until 2 am this morning, with a force of 27 officers and police personnel from the Bentong IPD, with assistance from the Genting Highlands Auxiliary Police.
