PRASARANA INTRODUCES MY50 SAVINGS TRACKER IN TNG EWALLET

05/02/2026 05:36 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 5 (Bernama) -- My50 Pass users can now track the actual value of their public transport usage and total fare savings through the My50 Savings Tracker, a new feature introduced in the Touch ‘n Go eWallet (TNG eWallet) application launched by Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana) today.

In addition, Prasarana has expanded digital conveniences for users by enabling the purchase of the Rapid KL City Pass (Pas Rapid Kota) and the Rapid KL Travel Pass (Pas Rapid Kembara) via the mini Travel Pass feature in the TNG eWallet application, aimed at easing travel for tourists and reducing congestion at public transport stations.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke said the initiative complements the digitalisation of the My50 Pass, which previously could only be renewed at service counters, allowing users to renew their monthly passes online since July last year without having to queue at stations.

“The digital option is showing an upward trend, with more than 50 per cent of over 200,000 My50 Pass holders each month opting for the digital platform as of the end of last month. This creates a smoother travel experience and helps reduce congestion at stations.

“Through the tracker, users can see the amount of government subsidy involved so that they do not take it for granted, as they only pay RM50 while the government bears RM100, amounting to a subsidy of RM1,200 per user annually,” he told a press conference on the introduction of the My50 Savings Tracker and the digitalisation of the Rapid Kota and Rapid Kembara passes here today.

Loke said the government spent nearly RM300 million last year to cover subsidies for the My50 Pass in its efforts to encourage the use of public transport, despite the original allocation from the Ministry of Finance being RM200 million.

He said the Transport Ministry remains committed to continuing the initiative even though the number of users is expected to increase this year, particularly following the opening of the Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT3) linking Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya to Johan Setia in Klang.

The My50 Pass allows Malaysians to enjoy unlimited travel for 30 days at a price of RM50 on public transport services in the Klang Valley, including LRT, MRT, Monorail, BRT, Rapid KL buses and MRT feeder buses.

Meanwhile, the Rapid Kota Pass offers unlimited travel at a rate of RM10 per day or RM25 for three days for Malaysians, while the Rapid Kembara Pass, which is tailored for foreign tourists, is priced at RM25 per day or RM55 for three days.
