NEW YORK, Feb 11 (Bernama-Xinhua) -- Multiple people died on Tuesday in a shooting at a residence in Sarasota County, Florida, local authorities said, reported Xinhua.
"Multiple victims are deceased. None of the victims has been identified," said the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office on social media, adding that an investigation is ongoing at the scene.
A weapon was recovered from the scene, reports said.
The shooting prompted a massive law enforcement response in the afternoon. Authorities said that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The United States reported 38,789 gun violence deaths and 407 mass shootings in 2025, according to the Gun Violence Archive.
