PUTRAJAYA, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Education (MOE) has clarified that the History subject is only offered to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils at the primary school level.
In a statement today, the ministry said it had taken note of media reports on the offering of the History subject at the primary and secondary school levels under the 2027 School Curriculum.
The ministry said Deputy Education Minister Wong Kah Woh, during an oral question-and-answer session in the Dewan Rakyat today, had explained the new curriculum that will begin next year involving Year 1 pupils and Form One students.
“For the History subject, at the primary school level it is offered to Year 5 and Year 6 pupils. Meanwhile at the secondary school level, it is offered to students beginning in Form One,” the statement said.
