GEORGE TOWN, Feb 11 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Rubber Board (LGM), in collaboration with the Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), raided premises in Permatang Pauh today, believed to be actively buying, storing and selling rejected and scrap rubber gloves without a valid permit.
LGM, through its Inspectorate and Enforcement Unit, seized nearly 50 tonnes of rubber gloves stored in jumbo bags and sacks, including weighing equipment, with a total value of over RM230,000.
It said the activity is an offence under Regulation 22(1)(b) of the Malaysian Rubber Board (Licensing and Permit) Regulations 2014.
“No person shall buy, store, or sell rejected rubber gloves and scrap rubber gloves unless he holds a PST-G Permit.
“If convicted, the individual involved may be fined not exceeding RM50,000 or imprisoned for up to two years, or both,” it said in a statement tonight.
