ISRAEL RENEWS ADMINISTRATIVE DETENTION ORDERS AGAINST 41 DETAINEES

16/02/2026 11:59 PM

RAMALLAH, Feb 16 (Bernama-WAFA) -- The Palestinian Detainees' Affairs Commission and the Palestinian Prisoner's Society (PPS) stated on Monday that the Israeli occupation authorities issued and renewed administrative detention orders against 41 detainees, Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.

In a joint statement, they explained that the occupation continues to escalate its use of administrative detention under the pretext of a “secret file.”

They noted that the number of administrative detainees constitutes the highest percentage compared to the number of prisoners held in pretrial detention, those convicted, and those classified as “unlawful combatants,” a number that has witnessed an unprecedented increase since the beginning of the war of extermination.

According to Israeli human rights information centre B’Tselem, in administrative detention, a person is held without trial without having committed an offense, on the grounds that the individual plans to break the law in the future.
