KUALA LUMPUR, March 3 (Bernama) -- Malaysian health brand group Atomic Group’s two flagship brands, cardiovascular supplement Kingwell Heartio and stomach health nutritional meal Nattome, have simultaneously been conferred regional record certifications.
In a statement, the group noted that Heartio received dual certifications from ASEAN Records and ASIA Records, recognised as the First Clinically Validated Halal Heart Health Product Formulated with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)-Derived Herbs Achieving Multi-Biomarker Improvements.
Meanwhile, Nattome was certified by ASEAN Records as Malaysia’s First Clinically Validated Stomach Health Nutritional Meal Proven to Improve Acid Reflux.
The certifications were conferred at the group’s annual dinner held last night.
Atomic Group founder Jon Lai said that Heartio and Nattome receiving three regional record certifications simultaneously is a strong testament to the group’s commitment to science-based product validation.
“This recognition belongs not just to both brands, but to every team member who has contributed to our research, quality assurance, and market development journey,” he said.
Lai told Bernama that the recognition also signifies the group’s seriousness about where it invests its resources and focus, ensuring that as many products under its umbrella have scientific support for both efficacy and safety.
“In Malaysia, it is pretty rare for a company to obtain two ASEAN records, and even rarer in the health product sector. Therefore, it shows where we have placed our focus.
“For us, we need good products, but not just purely by our own claim. We also need scientific evidence to back them up,” he said.
Regarding the biggest challenge in achieving the clinical validation required for these recognitions, he said the main issue was maintaining consistency in delivering results.
Lai explained that to obtain reliable results, clinical trial participants need to have similar symptoms and follow the same procedures, ensuring that the outcomes demonstrate the brand’s effectiveness for those specific symptoms.
He cited acid reflux as an example, noting that variations in gut conditions can influence the final results of clinical trials.
“Therefore, in terms of consistency, finding the right people and completing trials for 100 people within three months is a challenge,” he noted.
When asked about the impact of the certifications on strengthening consumer confidence in Heartio and Nattome, Lai said the group’s offline distribution has penetrated physical stores such as pharmacies, where certifications are often required to demonstrate product efficacy, a major breakthrough for the group.
He also mentioned that many consumers conduct their own research on product ingredients, wanting to know whether a brand has truly undergone clinical validation.
During the dinner, Lai also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hong Jue Tang executive director, Alvin Tan Shing Yeou, marking the launch of a strategic partnership in the health product sector.
