N. SEMBILAN TO HOLD STATEWIDE MANTAI RAYA PERDANA FROM MARCH 18 - AMINUDDIN

SEREMBAN, March 4 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan government will hold the Mantai Raya Perdana programme simultaneously across all 36 state constituencies beginning March 18, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.

He said that a total of 100 kilogrammes (kg) of free meat will be distributed to asnaf groups and the underprivileged, amounting to 3,600 kg across all constituencies. Mantai is a local tradition in Negeri Sembilan, where people buy fresh meat at lower prices in preparation for Aidilfitri.

“The state government will also subsidise 18,000 kg of meat, to be sold at a RM3 per kg discount off the retail price, with purchases capped at two kg per person. Each state constituency will be allocated 500 kg of subsidised meat.

“However, the final sale price of the meat at the Mantai Raya Perdana has yet to be determined as it depends on suppliers and public response,” he told reporters after chairing the State Executive Council (Exco) meeting here today.

Aminuddin said that the Mantai Raya Perdana will be managed by the state Department of Veterinary Services in collaboration with relevant parties in each constituency, and will also be combined with the Rahmah Sales and Agro MADANI Sales.

In a separate development, he advised families and students from the state currently pursuing their studies in the Middle East to remain vigilant and closely follow official instructions as well as current developments in their respective countries.

He said safety must be given priority in view of the ongoing unrest.

“We urge students and their families to constantly monitor the latest developments and comply with all directives issued by the government of the country they are in. We have been informed that they are not allowed to leave their residences due to the highly risky current situation,” he said.
