KING DRIVES OVER 45KM TO INSPECT ENVIRONMENT IN MERSING

JOHOR BAHRU, March 7 (Bernama) -- His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, today personally drove more than 45 kilometres through several residential areas to observe environmental conditions in the district of Mersing.

According to a post on the official Facebook page of Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar, His Majesty also visited Tanjung Penyabong Jetty to personally inspect the level of cleanliness and the condition of facilities at the jetty.

Sultan Ibrahim emphasised that cleanliness and environmental maintenance must always be prioritised by local authorities.

His Majesty noted that Mersing is among the popular tourist destinations in Johor, adding that maintaining cleanliness is essential to ensure the area remains attractive and comfortable for both residents and visitors.

Sultan Ibrahim also reminded the public to play their part in preserving cleanliness and to avoid littering to ensure urban areas remain well-maintained.

Meanwhile, in a separate post, Sultan Ibrahim also granted an audience to Human Resources Minister R. Ramanan at Istana Flinstones today.

His Majesty was briefed on the ministry’s latest plans as well as various initiatives currently being implemented, particularly those aimed at assisting the people.

Later in the afternoon, Sultan Ibrahim visited the Taman Lautan Biru Ramadan Bazaar in Mersing to mingle with the public and observe business activities.

His Majesty also presented personal contributions to stall operators.

The royal visit drew the attention of visitors, many of whom took the opportunity to greet and take photographs with the King.

Sultan Ibrahim also toured several food stalls and interacted with traders and children.

Also present were Mersing district officer Jamil Hasni Abdullah and commander of the 21 Gerup Gerak Khas Ahmad Shuhaimi Mat Wajab.
