MELBOURNE, March 8 (Bernama-dpa) -- Mercedes driver George Russell on Sunday won the first race of Formula 1 season in Melbourne, reported German news agency dpa.
The British driver prevailed over his Italian teammate Kimi Antonelli at the Australian Grand Prix.
Behind them, Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton came respectively third and fourth.
World champion Lando Norris had to settle for fifth place in his McLaren to kick the season off, while four-time champion Max Verstappen finished sixth in his Red Bull.
