MTA, PRUBSN HOST IFTAR FOR UITM SHAH ALAM COMMUNITY

SHAH ALAM, March 11 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA), in collaboration with Prudential BSN Takaful Berhad (PruBSN), hosted an iftar programme for more than 200 members of the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam community through the Sinar Lestari: Iftar Bersama Mahasiswa UiTM Shah Alam programme here today.

MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed said the programme also included a takaful sharing session with students to promote understanding of the importance of takaful as a financial protection and risk management instrument.

He said early exposure to the concept of takaful could help young people plan their financial protection more effectively in the future.

“Today’s programme also involved volunteers consisting of takaful agents who worked together to prepare 1,000 food packs to be distributed to the public and students here,” he said when met after the programme at UiTM Shah Alam today.

He added that the programme also included the distribution of festive contributions to 200 students, with a total allocation of RM17,000.

Meanwhile, PruBSN executive council member Rahman Mansor said the programme also aimed to strengthen community ties while giving back to society.

“For PruBSN, we do not only organise programmes at UiTM but travel across the country. UiTM is one of the locations selected under the PruBSN Prihatin programme.

“Through this initiative, we give back to the community by providing iftar meals, preparing food together and fostering closer ties while celebrating the month of Ramadan,” he said.
