ISTANBUL, March 11 (Bernama-Anadolu) -- Several drones were shot down on Wednesday, while others struck fuel tanks at Oman's Salalah Port, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported, citing local media.

Omani officials are working relentlessly to monitor and counter the attacks, the Oman News Agency reported, citing a source who added that no casualties have been reported in the attack on Salalah port.

Tensions gripped the Middle East after Israel and the US launched joint attacks on Iran on Feb 28 and have so far killed more than 1,200 people, including Ali Khamenei, the country's former supreme leader, and more than 150 schoolgirls.

Tehran retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and several Gulf countries hosting United States (US) military assets.
