PALESTINE URGES PROBE INTO ISRAEL’S GENOCIDE AND WAR CRIMES AFTER TAMMOUN KILLING

KUALA LUMPUR, March 16 (Bernama) --  The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has called for decisive international action to advance investigations into genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people following the killing of four members of a family in the town of Tammoun on Sunday.

The ministry urged the international community to ensure full accountability for those responsible and to end what it described as a persistent culture of impunity.

“The escalating violence carried out by Israeli settlers across the occupied West Bank are not isolated incidents, but part of a broader and systematic campaign aimed at the destruction and forced displacement of the Palestinian people, exploiting the wider regional escalation.

“Israel bears full and direct responsibility for this crime and the broader pattern of attacks against Palestinian civilians,” it said in a statement on Monday.

The ministry cited the latest horrific massacre committed by Israeli occupation forces in the town of Tammoun, southeast of Toubas, on Sunday morning which resulted in the killing of a Palestinian man, his wife and their two children after Israeli forces opened fire on their vehicle.

It added that two other children were also injured.

“The crime represents a shocking act of extrajudicial execution, as the entire Palestinian family was deliberately targeted while inside their car.

“Israeli forces also reportedly prevented Palestinian Red Crescent medical teams from reaching and assisting the injured, leaving them without immediate medical aid,” it said.

The ministry added that it will continue to intensify its political, legal and diplomatic efforts across international forums to pursue perpetrators and all those responsible for policies of killing, displacement and the targeting of Palestinian families and children.

It said the efforts would also focus on securing urgent international protection for the Palestinian people, safeguarding the Palestinian presence on its land and upholding the Palestinian people’s legitimate national rights in accordance with international law and United Nations resolutions.
