KUALA KRAI, March 17 (Bernama) -- More than 100 Skuad Bantu members will begin assisting road users tomorrow evening, focusing on travellers returning to their hometowns who experience vehicle problems, with support continuing until the morning of the first day of Aidilfitri.
Kelantan Road Safety Council (MKJR) chairman Hilmi Abdullah said said the operations will target key routes from the Gua Musang border, including Kampung Telekong, particularly at night when most workshops are closed.
“We provide assistance to road users, especially travellers, including minor repairs and helping those who run out of fuel. The squad is well-equipped and staffed with skilled personnel to ensure assistance is delivered quickly and effectively.
“In some previous cases, we have also helped transport people to their destinations before they return to collect their vehicles for repair,” he told reporters after launching the squad in Kampung Pahi here today.
Hilmi, who is also state Local Government, Housing, Health, and Environment Committee chairman, said Kelantan MKJR continues to intensify its road safety campaign, particularly ahead of the festive season.
