KUALA TERENGGANU, March 23 (Bernama) -- World-class cycling team Terengganu Cycling Team (TSG) are targeting two podium finishes at the 2026 Tour of Thailand, which begins tomorrow.

TSG chief operating officer Nasiruddin Wan Idrus said six riders, comprising five imports and one local rider, have been selected to take on the challenge in this Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) 2.1-rated race.

“For this race, TSG are fielding Vadim Pronskiy (Kazakhstan), Adne Van Engelen (Netherlands), Juan Pedro Lozano Navarro (Spain), James Gadner (New Zealand), Pierre Barbier (France) and Muhamad Qayyim Saipul Anuwai (Malaysia).

“The riders will go through six stages from March 24 to 29. Besides targeting two podium finishes, we are also hoping that one rider will finish among the top three overall,” he said when contacted by Bernama today.

Nasiruddin said he hopes the team will achieve the set targets to make up for the disappointment of failing to secure any podium finish at the Tour of Taiwan from March 15 to 19.

He added that in the previous Tour of Thailand, TSG secured two podium finishes through Mohamed Harrif Saleh and Wan Abdul Rahman Hamdan, and also placed third overall in the team classification.
