JOHOR ALLOCATES RM152.88 MLN TO OVER 400,000 STUDENTS SINCE 2023

JOHOR BAHRU, March 28 (Bernama) -- The state government has allocated RM152.88 million, benefitting 404,547 Johor students, through the implementation of various programmes and initiatives since 2023.

Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said the aid encompassed the Johor Student Incentive (IMAJ) with RM49.6 million, the Registration Assistance Scheme (RM17.9 million), the Johor Education Foundation (YPJ) Education Loan Scheme (RM39.14 million) and Johor Student Laptop Assistance (RM23.96 million).

He added that the Johor Student Association, meanwhile, received an allocation of RM2.68 million, involving 20,000 members nationwide, the Johor Student Tour 2025 (RM1.3 million), the Johor Student Ambassador (RM600,000) and the Johor Youth Scholarship (RM11.9 million).

"All these efforts are a continuous commitment to ensuring more inclusive access to education, increasing the marketability of graduates and strengthening the development of human capital of the Johor people.

"Hopefully, all these initiatives will continue to provide lasting benefits and become a catalyst for the success of future generations,” he posted on Facebook today.

Onn Hafiz said the state government upholds the decree of the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail, who always emphasises the development and welfare of young people, especially Johor students.

"This approach is implemented in a systematic, targeted and inclusive manner to ensure no students are left behind in economic and educational development,” he said.
