AYER KUNING POLLS: AMH TO GO ALL OUT TO WIN YOUTH VOTES

24/03/2025 06:51 PM

TAPAH, March 24 (Bernama) -- Angkatan Muda Harapan (AMH) has outlined a strategy to secure youth votes for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the upcoming Ayer Kuning state by-election.

AMH chief Woo Kah Leong said that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) youth wing will mobilise all its resources to ensure that the Ayer Kuning seat remains with BN.

"We already have a framework and strategy, based on prior meetings between both PH and BN election machinery teams, who will work together as one unit in Ayer Kuning.

"Our formula is unity for all. We will not be working separately but rather moving under the same narrative to secure victory for the Unity Government's candidate," he told a press conference here today.

Also present were AMH Information Chief Ammar Atan and AMH Ayer Kuning by-election director Khairol Najib Hashim, who is also the Perak Amanah Youth chief.

Meanwhile, Khairol Najib said that his team will strengthen their online campaign strategy due to its real-time nature, speed, and ability to reach target audiences, especially young voters living outside the constituency.

"In the context of digital democracy, new media is a crucial tool for winning hearts and shaping voter perceptions, particularly those aged 18 to 40.

"Apart from external voters, we will also focus our campaign on ensuring that members and supporters of the coalition parties turn out to vote for the Unity Government’s candidate on polling day, April 26," he said.

Polling for the Ayer Kuning by-election is on April 26, with nomination and early voting on April 12 and April 22, respectively.

The by-election was called following the passing of incumbent Ishsam Shahruddin on Feb 22 due to a heart attack after participating in a football tournament at Bandaraya Stadium, George Town, Penang.
