KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 19 (Bernama) -- Taiwan’s technology companies showcased new technologies to boost Malaysia’s smart manufacturing sector towards modernising the industrial landscape at the Taiwan Smart Manufacturing Pavilion at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) today.

The event, in conjunction with SMART NATION 2024 from Nov 19 to 21, features six leading Taiwanese companies demonstrating their latest technologies and solutions in smart manufacturing, smart mobility, automation, Enterprise War Room, artificial intelligence (AI) machine vision inspection, and monitoring systems.

The six companies highlighted at the Taiwan Smart Manufacturing Pavilion are NexAIoT Co. Ltd., HIWIN Technologies Corp., SYNTEC Technology, S-LINK System Inc., GMT Global Inc, and Pitotech Co. Ltd.

IPC System BU NexAIoT Co Ltd’s ASEAN managing director Gred Teh, who is also showcasing the new core technology NexAIoT Data Acquisition System (nDAS), said the company provides advanced AIoT solutions tailored for industries like semiconductor manufacturing, which are critical to Malaysia’s economic growth.

“We specifically designed our nDAS product, along with other AIoT devices, to support real-time data collection and processing. By connecting sensors directly to our hardware, data from machines is stored and transmitted to the cloud, enabling real-time insights and decision-making in smart manufacturing processes.

“This is a very cost-effective product and solution in terms of hardware and software. The nDAS product can be deployed with medium enterprises, including the high technology industries. So this is our compact AI product,” he told Bernama during the Innovative Technology and Product Launch session here today.

Furthermore, Teh believes that the broader Malaysian industrial landscape can benefit from these innovations, helping the country further establish itself as a regional leader in advanced manufacturing technologies.

Meanwhile, S-LINK Systems Inc vice president Steven Chen also presented a solution aimed at revolutionising Malaysia's urban transport networks through AI technology that could optimise traffic flow, reduce congestion, and contribute to the country’s environmental sustainability goals.

“Intelligent transportation is about using AI to analyse traffic conditions and improve traffic management in real time. By leveraging AI, we can dynamically adjust traffic lights, extend green lights, and even change signal patterns based on current congestion levels,” he said.

He also emphasised the importance of these AI-driven solutions in supporting Malaysia’s broader environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives, particularly in reducing the carbon footprint of the transportation sector.

The company also showcased its all-in-one Mobitrack system, combining essential components such as switches, routers, and AI processing units into a single device, simplifying installation and reducing the risk of compatibility issues.

“Deploying intelligent transportation solutions can be complex, involving multiple devices and systems. Our Mobitrack system integrates all of these functions into one unit, making it easier for enterprises to deploy AI-powered traffic management solutions without the hassle of coordinating multiple components," he said.

Taiwan Smart Manufacturing Pavilion, with the theme ‘Taiwan Smart Manufacturing Leads the Future, aims to support Malaysian businesses towards digital development, building a collaborative smart manufacturing ecosystem platform between two countries, and enhancing productivity in Malaysia's manufacturing sector.
