The United States has donated vehicles and equipment worth over RM13 million to the Lao National Unexploded Ordnance Programme to help remove mines buried. The support enables Lao experts to conduct mine-clearing activities in remote areas.

Earthquake Information and Tsunami Warning Center yesterday evening reported an earthquake of magnitude 3.8 in Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province located in the central highlands of Vietnam. No harm to people or properties has been reported so far. 

 

2. INFLATION COULD TOUCH ABOVE FOUR PER CENT -- VIETNAM NEWS

Vietnam’s Banking Academy’s Banking Research Institute predicts inflation could reach between 4 to 4.5 per cent this year. This is mainly due to pressures from rising global energy and food prices, and Typhoon Yagi’s impact that increased domestic production costs.
