WARNER MUSIC MALAYSIA, WATSONS MALAYSIA'S FUTURELAND FESTIVAL ATTRACTS 20,000 FANS

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 4 (Bernama) -- The inaugural Futureland Festival was attended by almost 20,000 festival-goers, setting a new standard for live entertainment by celebrating Malaysian music and creativity while connecting fans through powerful performances and unique experiences.

Held on Nov 23, at the historic Merdeka Stadium that was recently restored to its former glory, the Futureland Festival, organised by Warner Music Malaysia in partnership with Watsons Malaysia transformed this iconic venue into a vibrant hub for live music.

The festival showcased a stellar lineup of both celebrated and emerging artists, establishing itself as a dynamic platform for local talent, gathering attendees from diverse backgrounds for a full day of celebration and shared appreciation of music, culture and community. 

Warner Music Malaysia and Singapore Managing Director Dinesh Ratnam in a joint statement today said they are excited to have launched the first-ever Futureland Festival at the iconic Merdeka Stadium alongside Watsons Malaysia, as it celebrates its 30th anniversary.

“The festival’s resounding reception is a testament to the power of music in bringing people together. We are deeply grateful to Watsons Malaysia, our other sponsors - Perfume Paradise as the official perfume partner, Yes 5G as the official telco partner - and all our partners for their unwavering support.

“To the fans, thank you for bringing unmatched energy and making this event unforgettable. This festival has given emerging talent the opportunity to share the stage with Malaysia’s finest, creating a truly historic moment. Following the resounding success of Futureland, we are considering making it an annual recurrence,” he said.

He also expressed his appreciation to the fans for their enthusiasm and support as well as to Merdeka Stadium for being the perfect backdrop to the festival, which celebrates the rich tapestry of Malaysian music and the incredible connection between artists and fans. 

With the Futureland Festival now a landmark event in Malaysia’s entertainment calendar, Warner Music Malaysia looks forward to continuing its mission of celebrating and elevating local talent on the global stage.

Managing Director of Watsons Malaysia and Chief Operating Officer of Health & Beauty Asia, A.S. Watson Group Caryn Loh said Futureland is their way of saying ‘thank you’ to their members and customers as the company celebrate its 30th anniversary.

“This event combines the best music, culture, and Watsons’ signature health and beauty experiences in one epic night. We’re thrilled to continue inspiring and delighting Malaysians to look good, do good and feel great for years to come,” she said. 

Artists such as Hujan, Masdo, Aina Abdul, Bunkface, Ayda Jebat, Amsyar Leee, empty page, FUGŌ, Hael Husaini, Fimie Don, Nadeera, Rizal Rasid, Syamel, TUJU, Wani Kayrie and Zynakal took the stage, showcasing the diverse and vibrant talent of the Malaysian music scene.

The final act of the 10-hour festival was marked by Hujan, whose electrifying performance left the crowd in awe, closing the event with an energy that perfectly captured the spirit of Futureland.

Aina Abdul, one of Malaysia’s most celebrated voices, made her debut at a music festival, captivating the audience with her powerful vocals and stage presence, marking a historic moment for both her and the event.

Beyond the performances, the festival also offered attendees a variety of engaging activities such as The Watsons Glow Up Zone, featuring beauty and wellness booths where festival-goers enjoyed exclusive freebies, sampling and engaging experiences.

The atmosphere was further elevated with a bustling food village, pop-up stores and interactive street activities.
