PUTRAJAYA, Feb 15 (Bernama) -- After eight years of dedicated service as the Chief Executive Officer of Institut Keusahawanan Negara Bhd (INSKEN), Muhd Firdaus Azharuddin has concluded his tenure.
Having led INSKEN since 2017, he fulfilled his mandate and responsibilities, prioritising entrepreneurial development, particularly in the micro and informal sectors.
In a statement today, INSKEN highlighted that under Muhd Firdaus' leadership, the agency achieved remarkable outcomes and introduced various new initiatives.
"The increase in sales revenue through INSKEN’s coaching programmes, namely the INSKEN Bumiputera Business Coaching (IBBC) and the Menu Profit Coaching Programme, is among his greatest contributions to the national economy," the statement said.
According to INSKEN, both programmes recorded a sales revenue increase of nearly RM101 million under Muhd Firdaus’ leadership, with structured coaching modules ensuring entrepreneurs met their key performance indicators (KPIs).
Additionally, INSKEN reported that 1,134 new jobs were created, and 130 entrepreneurs successfully transitioned their businesses from micro to small enterprises.
"Recognising the impact of these programmes, he was the driving force behind making the IBBC Programme a mandatory initiative, as it has significantly helped entrepreneurs elevate their businesses to higher levels," the statement added.
To ensure that entrepreneurs in Sabah and Sarawak also received support and benefited from INSKEN, Muhd Firdaus strategically expanded the agency’s presence by opening branches in both states in 2023.
"His dedication and efforts were widely recognised, earning him a spot among the 100 Top CEOs of 2022 under the Special Leadership Award category for Government Agencies (Micro and Informal Entrepreneur Development)," INSKEN said.
INSKEN is an agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), offering capacity-building initiatives through training and mentorship programmes.
