NILAI, Feb 24 (Bernama) -- National track cyclist Muhammad Fadhil Mohd Zonis acknowledged that he will not be losing sleep for failing a podium finish in the men’s 1km Time Trial at the Asian Track Cycling (ATC) 2025 at the National Velodrome, here today.
The event which was the 27-year-old's first race in the ATC 2025, saw him concede victory to a bunch of riders who had better pace.
He clocked a time of one minute 00.896s (s) to take fourth position, behind Japan's Ryuto Ichida (1:00.057s) in first place, China's Liu Qi (1:00.164s) in second place and Kazakhstan's Kirill Kurdidi (1:00.666s) in third placing.
"I have given 100 per cent and I don't feel like I'm lacking in any aspect at all. However, today I lost to better riders. Me and the team have done our best, and even my pedaling today felt very good," he said when met after the race.
He had to forget his participation in the last edition of ATC due to health problems, however, stated that he would rise in the keirin event tomorrow with the target of qualifying for the final stage.
"My focus now is to get past the semifinal stage before planning for the final,” he said.
