KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 25 (Bernama) -- The annual International Economic Forum of Russia and Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries - KazanForum 2025 is set to be held from May 13 to 18 in Kazan, Russia.
According to a statement from the forum’s organising committee, the aim of the forum, which enters its 16th edition this year, is to strengthen trade and economic, scientific and technical, educational, and social and cultural ties between Russia and the OIC countries of which Malaysia is a member.
“The KazanForum 2025 programme includes more than 100 sessions and events on the following topics: international cooperation, business Islamic finance and Halal industry, transport and logistics, science and technology, information technology, industry, construction, medicine, education, tourism, culture, media industry and others,” the statement read.
One of the main events of KazanForum 2025 will be the first-ever congress of OIC Ministers of Culture in the history of Russia.
Media practitioners are invited to take part in the forum and they can submit their accreditation applications until April 20 on the official KazanForum website (www.kazanforum.ru).
Last year, KazanForum 2024 gathered more than 20,000 participants from 87 countries, which saw the representations of more than 40 diplomatic missions from Europe, Asia and Africa. A total of 180 events were held, which resulted in the conclusion of 120 agreements, it added.
