PERAK CONTINUES TO HOLD SOLAT HAJAT FOR PALESTINIANS

IPOH, March 19 (Bernama) -- All mosques across Perak will continue to hold solat hajat (special prayers) to pray for the well-being and safety of the Palestinian people, said Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad.Juadah raya ini diagihkan antaranya kepada anggota Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia, Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia, 69 Komando Pasukan Gerakan Khas, Akademi Tentera Udara Perak, Pas.

He said that these prayers could be conducted after Friday or Tarawih prayers, emphasising that such a noble act does not require directives or recommendations from the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM) to be carried out.

"I have attended several Friday or Tarawih prayers where solat hajat was organised, or the imam recited Qunut Nazilah, and in these prayers, we also seek Allah’s protection for the people of Gaza and other affected areas," he told reporters after the handover ceremony of festive food contributions from the state government to uniformed personnel at the Perak Darul Ridzuan Building today.

A total of 10,500 food packs containing rendang tok, compressed rice, peanut sauce, fried anchovy sambal, and meat floss were prepared by over 200 personnel, including staff from the Perak State Secretary’s Office, Badan Amal dan Usaha Isteri Negeri Perak (Baiduri), Persatuan Keluarga Polis (PERKEP) and Persatuan Suri dan Anggota Wanita Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia (PUSPANITA).

These festive food packs were distributed to personnel from various agencies, including the Royal Malaysian Customs Department, the Immigration Department, the 69 Commando Special Operations Force, the Perak Air Force Academy, the Marine Police Force in Kampung Acheh, the Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM), the Perak Health Department, the General Operations Force, the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), and the 2nd Brigade Headquarters.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar today announced that mosques and suraus under the supervision of JAKIM and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (JAWI) have been instructed to continue holding solat hajat until the end of Ramadan as a symbol of solidarity and prayer for the Palestinian people.

He condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on Gaza, which have claimed over 400 lives, including women and children, and left 562 others injured, as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.
