PUTRAJAYA, March 20 (Bernama) -- A total of 22,351 out of 236,986 candidates who sat for the Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) Class Assessment Test (UPKK) 2024 scored straight A’s in all nine subjects.

The subjects are Al-Quran, Akidah, Sirah, Adab, Jawi and Khat, Arabic Language, Ibadah, Penghayatan Cara Hidup Islam and Amali Solat.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar said the overall UPKK 2024 Grade Average Score was 1.85 points, compared to 1.89 the previous year.

“Alhamdulillah, UPKK 2024 has shown improvements in all aspects.

“I am also pleased with the decline in absentee candidates, which decreased by over 30 per cent (3,257 candidates) compared to 4,721 in the previous year,” he told reporters after announcing the UPKK 2024 results here today.

UPKK is an assessment conducted for Year Five students of KAFA classes to evaluate their achievements based on the established curriculum.

Mohd Na’im said the Department of Islamic Development Malaysian (Jakim) has introduced a new examination format for seven subjects, covering both oral and written tests, beginning in 2024.

“The format aligns with the KAFA 2.0 curriculum, introduced for the first cohort of Year One students in 2020.

“It aims to enhance students’ understanding of fundamental Fardu Ain knowledge in each subject, enabling them to internalise their learning and reinforce their faith as Muslims,” he said.

A total of 236,986 out of 240,244 registered candidates sat for the UPKK 2024 examination at 6,176 examination centres.

Results can be checked online at https://semakan.islam.gov.my/ using MyKid and examination registration numbers starting from 10.30 am today.

“The online results provide a general summary. Full result slips will be available at schools from 9.30 am tomorrow,” he added.

Mohd Na’im reiterated that the examination serves as a mechanism to assess the learning progress of students who have completed five years of KAFA classes.

“For students who obtained moderate or low results, there is still room for improvement to achieve excellence in the future.

“KAFA is not solely focused on examinations, but also on instilling strong Islamic values to shape well-rounded students in intellect and character,” he said.
