FELDA TO CHART NEW DIRECTION FOR SETTLERS AND NATION

KUALA LUMPUR, March 27 (Bernama) --The Federal Land Development Authority (FELDA) is currently formulating a new strategic direction that is expected to have a significant impact on settlers and the nation, following a directive from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim yesterday.

In a statement today, FELDA announced that the new direction will be presented within a month, with the goal of ensuring the institution’s ability to face future challenges while strengthening its position as the leader in the country’s agribusiness sector.

"Immediately after Aidilfitri, FELDA will focus on detailing the action plan based on existing data and research, while also gathering input from the agency’s internal leadership, national leaders, plantation sector experts, economists, and relevant stakeholders," the statement read.

This initiative aims to refine all strategies that can drive significant progress as a catalyst for rural economic development, particularly in the plantation sector and community advancement.

"FELDA is also confident that with the strong support of the MADANI Government and close collaboration with stakeholders, we can realise the vision of empowering settlers and continue playing a key role in contributing to the country’s economic and social stability," the statement added.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister, in his address at the Iftar with Felda Settlers event, gave the agency a month to present its new direction.

Anwar, who is also the Finance Minister, said this direction is crucial to ensuring a better future for the settlers.
