KUALA LUMPUR, April 3 (Bernama) -- Bank Rakyat is offering a special moratorium on monthly instalment payments for individual and business customers affected by the recent gas pipeline fire in Putra Heights.
Bank Rakyat in a statement said customers of Home Financing-i, Vehicle Financing-i, Hire Purchase Vehicle Financing-i, Personal Financing-i, Credit Card-i, Pawn Broking-i, Micro Financing-i and Education Financing-i can apply for moratorium assistance for up to six months.
According to Bank Rakyat, eligible customers can apply for the assistance even if they have received any moratorium assistance from the bank before.
“We understand the difficulties faced by those affected by this incident. As a banking institution that always prioritises the financial well-being of its customers, we are concerned and committed to helping ease their burden through this initiative.
“We believe that this measure can not only help ease their financial burden, but also give them the space to reorganise their financial situation during this challenging period and hope that this moratorium can provide them with relief,” the statement said.
Besides, Bank Rakyat is also offering Debit Card-i and Credit Card-i replacements without any fees to affected customers.
Meanwhile, Bank Rakyat announced that it has also presented a contribution of RM10,000 to the Putra Heights Mosque which is a temporary evacuation centre (PPS) to provide shelter for the victims involved.
“This contribution, which is one of Bank Rakyat’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, is hoped to help cover the expenses and needs of the victims to some extent,” he said.
For customers who wish to apply for special assistance under the Bank Rakyat moratorium, they can contact the Bank Rakyat Call Centre at 1300 800 800 or visit the nearest Bank Rakyat branch and Centralised Follow-up.
