KOTA KINABALU, April 5 (Bernama) -- More than 20,000 people attended the Sabah Government's Hari Raya Aidilfitri Open House held at Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here today.
The event was also enlivened by the presence of the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Sabah, Tun Musa Aman and his wife Toh Puan Faridah Tussin who arrived at 11.40 am.
Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor along with state ministers and deputy ministers.
Musa and Hajiji as well as the state government leadership then spent time meeting and mingling with the guests who were feted with various dishes and performances.
The delicacies included rendang, kolupis (rice wrapped in leaves), laksa, curry noodles, Raya biscuits, cakes and drinks.
A visitor, Lendyriani Limun, 39, said he would make it a point to attend the Sabah Government's Aidilfitri open house.
"At this celebration, we can enjoy various dishes that have been prepared... the venue is also quite comfortable even though it is filled with people," he said.
Another visitor, Alexsius Lambatus, 22, said this was his first time attending the celebration.
"I was invited by a friend to this festive occasion and I am overwhelmed with the elaborated dishes provided... and we were also entertained by performances of local Sabah artists," he added.
