KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- Maybank’s economic empowerment programme R.I.S.E. (Reach Independence and Sustainable Entrepreneurship) has made a positive impact in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Laos, Cambodia and Singapore, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said the programme had proven that efforts rooted in inclusivity and empowerment could create greater opportunities for all.
“Alhamdulillah, I had the opportunity to attend Maybank Group’s Aidilfitri reception today before departing for a working visit to Thailand.
“I also had the honour of presenting appreciation awards to participants of the R.I.S.E. economic empowerment programme, an important initiative by Maybank in strengthening the spirit of entrepreneurship, particularly among disadvantaged communities, including persons with disabilities in the ASEAN region.
“Congratulations to Maybank for this noble initiative. May such programmes continue to grow in building a fairer and more prosperous future,” he said in a Facebook post.
