BERNAMA AIMS TO ENHANCE COOPERATION WITH CMG IN TECHNOLOGY AND PRODUCTION

KUALA LUMPUR, April 17 (Bernama) -- The Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) aims to enhance and expand the scope of cooperation with China Media Group (CMG) in various areas, particularly in technology and production.

Chief Executive Officer of Bernama, Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, said that BERNAMA and CMG share a very close relationship, but there is still room for collaboration to further strengthen and enhance the content and production of both organisations.

"From Bernama’s perspective, I see opportunities for cooperation that can be further enhanced. This is evident from the production of several publication series as well as media visits to China and the reciprocal visits to Malaysia."

"I believe that with the strong cooperation already in place, we can further enhance and improve the quality of  content and productions on both sides," she said in an interview with CGTN on Tuesday night.

Elaborating further, Nur-ul Afida said that China has an advantage in terms of technology. As such, she expressed hope that Bernama and CMG could implement staff exchange placements as part of efforts to share experiences and to learn, particularly in the area of technology, from CMG.

She was speaking after a cultural exchange event titled “China and Malaysia: Joining Hands for Shared Prosperity”, held in Kuala Lumpur.

The event also witnessed the launch of a new phase of China-Malaysia media cooperation involving Bernama and several other mainstream media outlets.
