COUNTERFEIT PENDRIVES, MEMORY CARDS WORTH RM250,000 SEIZED

IPOH, April 18 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) seized counterfeit pendrives and memory cards worth about RM255,014 in a raid at a premises in the Pengkalan Industrial Estate here, last Wednesday.

The ministry’s Perak enforcement director, Datuk Kamalludin Ismail, said a 25-year-old man, who is the manager at the premises, was detained to assist in the investigation.

He said the raid was carried out following a complaint and information from the trademark owner.

 Preliminary checks by representatives of the trademark owner found that the pendrives and memory cards are counterfeit, he said in a statement today.

He said 1,401 pendrives and 7,519 memory cards were seized in the raid, and the case is being investigated under Section 102(1) (b) of the Trademark Act 2019. p
