STRATEGIC SAUDI-MALAYSIAN PARTNERSHIP, KEY TO SMOOTH HAJ OPERATIONS

MAKKAH, May 4 (Bernama) -- The strong strategic partnership between Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) with Saudi-based company, Mashariq Holdings (Mashariq) has once again proven to be an essential pillar in ensuring the smooth execution of this season's Haj operations for Malaysian pilgrims.

This is a continuation of a three-decade cooperation between TH and Mashariq, which is tasked with providing essential facilities and services for Malaysian pilgrims here, particularly in Arafah, Muzdalifah and Mina during the culmination of the haj pilgrimage.

Head of the Malaysian Haj Delegation, Mohd Hisham Harun, said that mutual respect and shared responsibility between both parties were key to deliver the highest standard of care and support to the pilgrims.

“There was a timeline set by the Saudi Ministry of Haj, and we worked closely with Mashariq to ensure everything was implemented according to schedule, particularly in securing the sites in Arafah and Mina.

“Alhamdulillah, for this year, as a result of our success being rewarded the Labaytum Award (for excellence in haj pilgrim service) last year, we were allowed to select the site for Malaysian pilgrims.

“With the cooperation of Mashariq, we managed to secure the location that has been used over the past few years,” he told reporters after attending the official event symbolising the joint partnership between TH and Mashariq, here, last night. 

The event, attended by Mashariq chairman Ali Hussein Al Bundugi, its deputy chairman Mahmoud Damanhouri and chief executive officer Waleed Mohammed Rashidi,  was aimed at setting the tone for the upcoming haj season.

Hisham also called on all personnel involved to remain vigilant, anticipate challenges and continue meticulous planning to ensure the comfort, safety and welfare of pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey.

“To our Mashariq partners, thank you for your warm collaboration, continuous support and shared values. Your professionalism and hospitality have not gone unnoticed, and we look forward to further strengthening this vital partnership.

“Finally, I hope that both parties will continue to nurture and prioritise our good relationships. Let us make this year's haj operation not just successful but memorable for all the right reasons,” he said.
