KUALA LUMPUR, May 20 (Bernama) -- National apit kanan (killer) Mohamad Azlan Alias is confirmed to have suffered a left elbow fracture following an incident during the team regu final of the 2025 Sepak Takraw Asian Cup at the Titiwangsa Stadium here on Sunday (May 18).
This was confirmed by the Sepaktakraw Association of Malaysia (PSM), who added that Mohamad Azlan is expected to be out for two months while he undergoes rehabilitation.
"The country's main 'killer’ is confirmed to have suffered a left elbow fracture by a doctor after undergoing a comprehensive health check this morning and is expected to be out for two months,” the PSM said in a brief statement to the media today.
In Sunday's team regu final, Malaysia lost 2-0 to arch-rivals Thailand.
Although he suffered the injury when he mistimed his landing in the first set, Mohamad Azlan bravely fought on until the end.
The first regu of Mohamad Azlan, tekong Mohammad Syahir Mohd Rosdi and server Amirul Zazwan Azmi lost 11-15, 15-12, 15-17 to their Thai rivals.
The second Malaysian regu of Farhan Adam, Muhammad Haziq Hairul Nizam dan Muhammad Noraizat Mohd Nordin also went down 15-13, 13-15, 4-15 to their Thai opponents.
