500 NEEDY IN BANDAR TUN RAZAK RECEIVE MADANI IHSAN HAMPERS

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) --  A needy group of 500 in the Bandar Tun Razak parliamentary constituency were presented with MADANI Ihsan food baskets today.

The donation was handed over by the Prime Minister's political secretary Datuk Azman Abidin, on behalf of the Prime Minister's wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who is the Member of Parliament for Bandar Tun Razak.

According to Azman, the initiative, which was coordinated with the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) and the MyPrihatin Foundation, is part of the government's ongoing efforts to ease the burden of the poorer segment.

"This time we are giving it to 500 more people and this programme's continuity means we can help the needy bear their daily burden," he said after the MADANI Ihsan food basket handover ceremony, which is a hamper of basic dry food items such as cooking oil, eggs, rice, flour and sugar.

A recipient, Hanipah Sarif, who has been living in Bandar Tun Razak for more than 20 years, expressed her appreciation for the government's concern.

"This is the third time I have received the MADANI Ihsan Basket and I am very grateful to have received the donation today," she said.

Meanwhile, Yusnita Harun, 54, who was present with her husband Muhd ​​Ashaari Rusdi, 55, said the basic necessities can cover their needs which includes for their five school-going children.

"Thank you to the government for easing our family's burden, it really helps us with daily life," said Yusnita, who is a person with a disability (PwD).
