KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 11 (Bernama) -- The Terengganu men's hockey squad defended their title in the 2025 TNB Tun Abdul Razak Cup after defeating Pahang 4-2 in the final at the Bukit Jalil National Hockey Stadium today.
Terengganu unleashed an extraordinary performance by putting up a fierce fight against the opposing team before breaking the deadlock in the 19th minute through a goal from Muhammad Abid Sufian Mat Ruslee.
Terengganu's prolific striker Faizal Saari then added to Pahang's misery with a penalty stroke goal in the 23rd minute and six minutes later, Faizal continued to show his talent when he scored his second personal goal with an exciting solo move, making the score 3-0.
In the third quarter, aggressive Terengganu added another goal through Darwisy Hamdan in the 36th minute.
Pahang tried making a comeback by scoring two goals through Muhammad Syawal Abdul Razak in the 42nd minute and Tengku Nasrul Ikmal Tengku Abd Rahim in the 52nd minute, but the 4-2 result remained in favour of coach Mohd Harfizi Baharom's men until the final whistle.
Meanwhile, in the women's competition, Young Tigress also defended the championship after defeating Selangor through a penalty shootout 3-1, after both teams were tied goalless in the regular match time.
