OSLO, Oct 12 (Bernama-WAFA) -- Thousands of demonstrators gathered outside Ullevaal Stadium in the Norwegian capital, Oslo, on Saturday in a show of support for Palestine, ahead of the European qualifier match between Norway and Israel for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported that protesters marched toward the stadium carrying Palestinian flags, while residents of nearby buildings hung banners in solidarity with Palestine from their balconies.
Inside the stadium, spectators displayed a massive Palestinian flag in the stands, alongside a banner that read "LET CHILDREN LIVE," in protest of the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip. Others held up red cards from the stands in a symbolic gesture.
Earlier, the Norwegian Football Federation announced that it would donate the proceeds from Saturday’s ticket sales to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).
The match ended with a decisive 5–0 victory for Norway, keeping them at the top of their group and bringing them closer to qualification for the World Cup.
