CHECKMARX HITS US$150 MLN ARR AS AI-POWERED APPSEC TAKES CENTRE STAGE

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- Checkmarx, a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI)-powered application security (AppSec) testing, has surpassed US$150 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR) for its flagship platform, Checkmarx One, just three years after launch. (US$1=RM4.22)

The rapid rise underscores its growing role in securing AI-driven software development for enterprises worldwide, according to Checkmarx in a statement.

With over 860 enterprise customers and strong momentum—30 per cent ARR growth and 20 per cent customer growth year-to-date (as of Sept 30, 2025)—Checkmarx One has become a go-to platform for modern AppSec.

It processes over 800 billion lines of code monthly and detects nearly half a million malicious packages before they impact businesses.

Its chief executive officer, Sandeep Johri attributes the rapid growth to a “prevention-first” approach, adding: “Organisations embracing AI for productivity gains must equally invest in securing the code it produces.”

Customers such as Cebu Pacific and construction giant PCL report a 50 per cent drop in vulnerabilities and faster remediation after adopting the platform.

The company’s newly released “Future of Application Security in the Era of AI” report reveals sharp shifts in development practices, with 34 per cent of organisations now relying on AI for more than 60 per cent of their code—and 98 per cent faced breaches tied to that code. Yet, only 18 per cent have governance policies in place.

In response, Checkmarx launched Developer Assist, an AI-powered security assistant that gives developers real-time, context-aware guidance—slashing remediation times from days to minutes.

Checkmarx's credibility is further solidified with leadership recognition in Gartner, Forrester, and IDC industry reports. It is also the first AppSec provider to earn FedRAMP Ready status at the High Impact Level—paving the way for broader adoption in government and critical infrastructure sectors.
