BAM TO FIELD STRONGEST TEAM IN THAILAND SEA GAMES

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 15 (Bernama) -- The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is fielding its strongest line-up for the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand, scheduled to start from Dec 9-20.

According to the list released by the sports governing body today, all the champions in their respective categories are scheduled to compete in the biennial games, including two world champions, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik (men's doubles) and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei (mixed doubles), as well as the 2025 world women's doubles runner-up Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah.

Aaron-Wooi Yik are the gold medalists at the 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines, while Tang Jie also won the same medal when teaming up with Peck Yen Wei in the 2021 edition in Vietnam.

Other representatives also listed for the 2025 SEA Games are Leong Jun Hao and Justin Hoh for the men's singles and K. Letshanaa and Wong Ling Ching for the women's singles.

BAM also has faith in the men's doubles of Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, the women's doubles of Go Pei Kee-Teoh Mei Xing and the mixed doubles of Hoo Pang Ron-Cheng Su Yin to bring the country's challenge to this SEA Games.

At the 2023 SEA Games in Phnom Penh, Malaysia, which was lined up with a reserve squad, only managed to bring home two silver and four bronze.

The 2025 SEA Games are scheduled to be held in three regions, namely Bangkok, Chonburi and Songkhla.

The following is the full list of players for the men’s and women’s team events at the 2025 SEA Games in Thailand from Dec 9 to 20:

Men’s team: Leong Jun Hao, Justin Hoh, Eogene Ewe, Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin, Aaron Chia, Soh Wooi Yik, Man Wei Chong, Tee Kai Wun, Chen Tang Jie, Hoo Pang Ron

Women’s team: K. Letshanaa, Wong Ling Ching, Siti Zulaikha Muhammad Azmi, Eng Ler Qi, Pearly Tan, M. Thinaah, Go Pei Kee, Teoh Mei Xing, Toh Ee Wei, Cheng Su Yin
