 1. PURBAYA HITS OUT AT PLAN TO ‘RETURN’ IDLE MEAL FUNDS -- THE JAKARTA POST

Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has called for improved budget absorption for the free nutritious meals (MBG) programme, after the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), which oversees the initiative, revealed plans to return unspent funds amid slow spending.

 

2. PRABOWO ALLY GLENNY KAIRUPAN APPOINTED AS GARUDA INDONESIA CEO -- JAKARTA GLOBE

Indonesia’s national airline Garuda Indonesia on Wednesday appointed Glenny H. Kairupan as its new chief executive officer, replacing Wamildan Tsani Panjaitan less than a year after his tenure began.

1. LAOS-CAMBODIA SOLIDIFY MILITARY TIES -- VIENTIANE TIMES

The Lao People’s Army and the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces have agreed to maintain deep military cooperation to enhance security cooperation along their shared borders. Jointly, they will combat illegal immigration, transnational crime, human trafficking and illicit trade.

 

2. VIETNAM SUPPORTS LAO NATIONAL DAY -- VIENTIANE TIMES

 

Vietnam donated command vehicles, parade gear and fireworks to assist Laos celebrate its 50th National Day in December, as part of defence cooperation between the two countries. Both defence ministries also reviewed the 2025-2029 defence cooperation.

1. MARKING A DECADE OF CEASEFIRE PACT -- THE GLOBAL NEW LIGHT OF MYANMAR

The government marked the 10th Anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement, pledging to maintain peace and unity for the nation’s economic recovery. It said only unity will allow the multiple ethnic groups to live in harmony.
