MALAYSIA TO HOST GLOBAL SKILLS FORUM 2025

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will host the two-day Global Skills Forum (GSF) 2025, starting next Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur.

In a statement today, the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) said the event will gather government leaders, ministers, policymakers, employers, labour agencies, training providers, academics and international development partners.

Discussions will focus on strategic issues such as digital transformation, the green economy, artificial intelligence (AI) and emerging industries shaping the future of work, with an emphasis on the role of employers and industries in workforce development.

The forum will also highlight the private sector’s role in driving training priorities, scaling innovations and supporting sustainable economic growth.

GSF 2025 is part of the ASEAN Year of Skills 2025 initiative, led by HRD Corp to bridge skills gaps, promote talent mobility and strengthen public-private cooperation across ASEAN.

The event is expected to set a benchmark for ASEAN and the global community in redefining skills development to enhance competitiveness, resilience and inclusive prosperity.

Co-organised by HRD Corp, the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), with support from the Human Resources Ministry (KESUMA), the forum is themed The Role of the Private Sector in Skills Development: Driving Innovation and Impact.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to officiate the event.
