KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 20 (Bernama) -- Police will apply for an extension of the remand order, which expires tomorrow, against a male student believed to be involved in the fatal stabbing of a 16-year-old female schoolmate at a school in Bandar Utama last Tuesday.
Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shamsudin Mamat said the 14-year-old student would be brought to the Petaling Jaya Magistrate’s Court tomorrow for the purpose.
“So far, the police have recorded statements of 148 individuals to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.
Shamsudin said the investigation paper will be submitted to the deputy public prosecutor when completed, for further action.
Last Wednesday, Magistrate Shahril Anuar Ahmad Mustapha issued a seven-day remand order against the student to assist the police investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
In the incident on Oct 14, it was reported that a female student died at the school after being stabbed in the chest and neck by a schoolmate.
