PETALING JAYA, Oct 24 (Bernama) -- Dewi Hijab Malaysia 2025, a newly launched women's empowerment initiative, is set to become a national platform that celebrates hijab-wearing women who embody beauty, intellect, and identity.
The inaugural edition of the competition brings together 25 finalists from various states and federal territories, each representing unique cultural identities and advocating for important themes such as entrepreneurship, mental well-being, sustainable living, and social empowerment.
Founder Jasrina Jasni said the selection process, which began earlier this year, focused on candidates aged between 19 and 40 who demonstrate strong social media influence, community involvement, and values related to entrepreneurship and women’s leadership.
“We want to show that beauty, intellect, and life goals can go hand in hand. Dewi Hijab is not just a beauty pageant, it is a platform for creating women who think like entrepreneurs and are actively championing social causes,” she told Bernama after the programme's launch here today.
The Grand Finale of Dewi Hijab Malaysia 2025 is scheduled to take place on Nov 30 in Kuala Lumpur. The event will feature two categories—Miss and Mrs, with two main crowns up for grabs.
Each winner will receive RM1,500 in cash and a customised trophy, as well as the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the Dewi Hijab Universe competition, which will be held in Malaysia next year, attracting participants from over 50 countries.
Dewi Hijab Malaysia 2025 patron, Tengku Khairul Adena Tengku Abdullah, highlighted that the competition aims to generate five million digital impressions nationwide.
By uniting influencers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers, the initiative seeks to redefine the modern representation of hijab-wearing women.
“The crowned winners will not only hold national titles but also represent Malaysia at Dewi Hijab Universe 2026, strengthening our cultural identity and promoting women’s empowerment on the global stage,” she added.
