KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 28 (Bernama) -- Malaysia and Vietnam today discussed efforts to finalise the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Action Plan between both countries, on the sidelines of the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the bilateral meeting with his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh also focused on expanding cooperation in trade, investment, electrical and electronics, artificial intelligence, semiconductors and the halal industry.

“The meeting also aimed to strengthen green energy cooperation through the Gentari-TNB-Petrovietnam project involving wind and solar energy,” he said.

Anwar said both countries also exchanged views on regional and global issues, including food security, transnational crime, the South China Sea and Myanmar, with a shared commitment to safeguarding regional peace, stability and prosperity.

The 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits serve as an essential platform to strengthen cooperation and address regional and global challenges in a comprehensive manner.
