KLANG, Nov 2 (Bernama) -- Melaka Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Dr Mohd Ali Mohd Rustam was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Malay Traders and Entrepreneurs Association of Malaysia (Perdasama) at a Bumiputera economic non-governmental organisation (NGO) awards ceremony today.
Tun Mohd Ali received the award during the Perdasama Excellence Awards and Gala Dinner 2025 held at a hotel here.
The award, presented by Perdasama Malaysia president Mohd Azamanizam Baharon, is the association’s highest recognition of Tun Mohd Ali’s exceptional and sustained contributions in building and empowering the entrepreneurial community in Malaysia, particularly in Melaka, as well as internationally through the Malay World Islamic World (DMDI) movement.
Meanwhile, 12 recipients received the Perdasama Leadership Award and two others were honoured with the Perdasama Strategic Partner Award, presented by Royal Klang City Council (MBDK) Mayor Datuk Abd Hamid Hussain.
In his speech, Mohd Azamanizam said the organisation is the only Bumiputera economic NGO serving as a panel adviser to the Advisory Committee for the PuTERA35 Guidelines.
"Alhamdulillah, this is yet another testament to the confidence in Perdasama’s capability to convey the views and interests of Bumiputera entrepreneurs at the policy level," he said.
He added that as of Sept 1, Perdasama’s membership had reached 27,480 Bumiputera companies, covering more than 50 business and industrial sectors.
