SHAH ALAM, Nov 17 (Bernama) -- Ten entrepreneurs, under the guidance of the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) through the Export Acceleration Programme (EAP), in partnership with SME Corp Malaysia, reached a proud milestone as their products made a successful debut in the Chinese market at the Malaysian International Halal Showcase (MIHAS) Shanghai 2025.

The corporation, in a statement, said the participation of local entrepreneurs at MIHAS Shanghai 2025 reflected PKNS and SME Corp’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Selangor government’s efforts to enhance the state’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through international exposure and global networking opportunities.

PKNS said that participation in the prestigious halal trade exhibition also provided local entrepreneurs, particularly those under the EAP Programme, with an opportunity to expand their market reach in the East Asian region and enhance their global competitiveness.

“The PKNS Entrepreneur Development Division, together with SME Corp, showcased all participating entrepreneurs at MIHAS Shanghai 2025, the leading halal trade exhibition organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) from Nov 5 to 10 at the National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC) in Shanghai, China.

“Building on the success of MIHAS Dubai 2024, this programme provides an important platform for PKNS entrepreneurs to showcase their products to the global halal market, especially China, home to over 26 million Muslim consumers and a fast-expanding halal industry,” the statement said.

The participating companies include Sumatraa Industries Sdn Bhd, Aducktive Food Sdn Bhd; BS Fitness Nutrition (M) Sdn Bhd; Monstr Confectionary Sdn Bhd; Doluvo Sdn Bhd; Nims Adeliciousz Sdn Bhd; Pisango Sdn Bhd; Faiza Marketing Sdn Bhd; KKMY Group Sdn Bhd, and Munif Hijjaz Marketing Sdn Bhd.

PKNS said that during the exhibition, the entrepreneurs also participated in business matching sessions with five international buyers, featuring product pitching to secure potential export and distribution opportunities in the Chinese market.

It added that MIHAS Shanghai 2025 recorded RM57.39 million in total business potential, with RM45.64 million derived from general exhibition activities and RM11.74 million from the Business Matching Session (BizMatch) organised for EAP Programme entrepreneurs by SME Corp and PKNS on Nov 4.

According to PKNS, MIHAS Shanghai 2025 was held in conjunction with the China International Import Expo (CIIE), which brought together over 2,500 exhibitors from 50 countries, with the Malaysian Pavilion among the largest participants, featuring more than 260 companies from various sectors, including food and beverage, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), agriculture, health, medicine, and Islamic finance.

“PKNS is confident that platforms such as MIHAS Shanghai will serve as a major catalyst for the growth of Selangor’s halal exports, thereby strengthening the contribution of local entrepreneurs to both the state and national economy,” the statement said.
