GRS LAUNCHES HOLISTIC, INCLUSIVE MANIFESTO ALIGNED WITH SABAH MAJU JAYA ROADMAP

KOTA KINABALU, Nov 17 (Bernama) --  Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) today launched its manifesto for the 17th Sabah State Election, built upon the central vision of “Rumah Kita, Kita Jaga”, framed by the theme of driving a progressive Sabah and an advancing society.

GRS Chairman, Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, said this vision is driven by the four core pillars of Sabah First, Sabah Forward, Sabah Prosper and Sabah United.

These four pillars will, in turn, be translated into action via 16 strategies, covering a wide range of development agendas across various sectors.

“GRS is determined and promises to deliver on everything contained within this manifesto we are presenting. It covers all aspects of strategic development that are holistic and inclusive, in line with the Sabah Maju Jaya direction, which is the cornerstone of our government.

“It encompasses development across various sectors—economic, infrastructure, security, education, human capital development, environmental sustainability, and public welfare—including the claim over Sabah's rights as clearly enshrined within the Federal Constitution,” he said during the coalition’s manifesto launch at the Sabah International Convention Centre today.

The Chief Minister emphasised that GRS has not only demonstrated its ability to maintain stability and unity but has also proven its capacity to deliver change and progress.

This is evidenced by the coalition's capability and commitment over the past five years in government to lay a solid foundation for prosperity and well-being for the people of Sabah.

"Indeed, the struggle of GRS is by the people, for the people, towards an advanced and prosperous Sabah, without neglecting our responsibility as citizens to always uphold the sovereignty of the laws of Malaysia.

"With a more comprehensive manifesto framework, grounded in our determination and commitment towards a progressive, prosperous and united Sabah, I am confident that GRS will secure strong support from the people to win the 55 contested seats. Insya-Allah, we will once again form the state government... truly, GRS is the best choice for the people," he said.

GRS is contesting 55 of the 73 seats in the state polls, with 33 percent of its candidates being new faces.

The Election Commission has set Nov 29 as polling day, with nomination day on Nov 15 and early voting on Nov 25.
