PUTRAJAYA, Nov 25 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was briefed on the latest developments concerning the Northeast Monsoon (MTL) floods in several states, shortly after arriving home from an eight-day visit to Ethiopia, South Africa and Kenya.
Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar said he had the opportunity to update the Prime Minister on the current flood situation as well as matters relating to the public service.
“Alhamdulillah, the Prime Minister has returned to the country after eight days abroad, carrying the nation’s key agenda to Ethiopia, South Africa and Kenya.
“In the brief window available, I managed to inform him of the latest updates on the ongoing MTL flood situation affecting several states, along with public service matters,” he said in a social media post here today.
Anwar's three-day visit to Ethiopia, which began on Nov 18, was the first by a Malaysian Prime Minister and to reciprocate Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali's official visit to Malaysia in October 2024.
From Addis Ababa, Anwar travelled to Johannesburg from Nov 20 to 23 to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit, before visiting Nairobi on Nov 23 and 24.
