The honorary degree was presented by USIM Chancellor, Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Aishah Rohani Tengku Besar Mahmud, who also declared the opening of the four-day convocation, running until Nov 28.
Also present were USIM Pro-Chancellors Tunku Zain Al-’Abidin Tuanku Muhriz and Tan Sri Abdul Wahid Omar, as well as Vice-Chancellor Datuk Ts Dr Sharifudin Md Shaarani.

Vice-Chancellor Sharifudin said Dr Noor Hisham was honoured for his outstanding contributions to the nation, particularly for his leadership, decisiveness, and wisdom during the COVID-19 pandemic, which earned public trust.
He added that Abdul Latiff’s recognition was for his role in transforming Malaysia’s first Quran transcription project and promoting Islamic art and Quranic printing globally.

“Over more than three decades in healthcare, I have witnessed various public health challenges, from infectious diseases like COVID-19 to mental health issues. This has taught me that service to the community is the true essence of the medical profession.
